JOY (Formally Women on Mission)
JOY is an acronym for Jesus, Others, Yourself.
Philemon 1:7 proclaims, “Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, [sister], have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.”
Do you have a heart for missions? The JOY ministry provides opportunities to serve Jesus, by meeting the needs of others. By putting Jesus first, others second, and then ourselves, we learn to experience true, biblical joy in the Lord! Join us as we pray for, seek out, and minister to our neighbors and the nations.
The JOY ministry meets once a season (the second Thursday of February, May, August, November) to pray over, learn about, and serve our local and international ministry partners. The meetings take place at 6:30P, locations vary.
There are many other ways to be involved in the branches of our JOY ministry through Spotswood Stitchers and the Flower Ministry.
The Spotswood Stitchers(for those who knit, crochet, sew, quilt, or want to learn to make blankets, hats, scarves, shawls, etc. to give to those who are in need, ill, homebound or hurting) meets every Monday, Sept- June from 10:00 am to Noon @ the Encounter Building. Contact: Dorie Chesser email@example.com
The Flower Ministry meets the First Tuesday of each month at Noon at the Grace house to assemble flower arrangements and then they deliver them to the residents at Hughes Nursing Home. contact: Agnes Carroll gness@aol

Spotswood MOMs exists to connect and encourage women with young children to grow in their roles as mothers through biblical principles. Our group meets the first and third Thursday of the month, October through May. Our meetings provide fellowship and learning opportunities that equip moms with practical skills for many mothering challenges. MOMs also offers many activities outside of regular meetings for moms, kids and families to enjoy. Our group began over 10 years ago as a MOPs group meeting at Spotswood Baptist Church and still holds the same structure and opportunities to local mothers as we have in the past.
MOMs is available to women in the local area with children 0-5 years old. Childcare is available during our meetings for children of MOMs members. Children are placed in classes by age and enjoy fun and learning opportunities with caring workers.
