Spotswood Women’s Ministry
The Women’s Ministry at Spotswood Baptist Church exists to make disciples through transformational teaching, biblical community and missional living.

Women on Mission
An ongoing missions involvement and learning opportunity that extends across the globe. Through opportunities to participate in missions and ministries, women are enabled to experience a variety of ways to serve Christ and develop a missions lifestyle. Ultimately, the purpose of all Women on Mission activities is that every person has the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel. Spotswood’s Women on Mission meet quarterly to pray for missionaries, learn about missions, and plan and/or participate in mission projects.
Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of February, May, August, and November from 7:00-8:30 PM in room E108.
Spotswood Stitchers (for those who knit, crochet, sew, quilt or want to learn to make blankets, hats, scarves, shawls, etc. to give to those who are in need, ill, homebound or hurting) meets every Monday from 10 a.m. to noon in room E108 for those who sew and quilt.
For an exhaustive list of the many ways you can get involved with Women on Mission and for a look ahead at some of our big events coming up this year, please see our Women on Mission Guide Sheet.

What is MOPS?
The first Mother’s of Preschoolers (MOPS) meeting took place in February, 1973 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, with eight moms gathering in someone’s family room. They talked, laughed, ate and shared their joy and challenges together. In this way, the MOPS concept was born! Today, decades later, the MOPS concept has grown to tremendous proportions. MOPS International is a powerful outreach to women all over the world. Mothers of preschoolers are not only supported, taught, and celebrated, but many discover and cultivate leadership skills through their involvement in their MOPS group. MOPS welcomes mothers to be, up to mothers of kindergarteners!
MOPS provides learning opportunities that equip moms with practical skills for many mothering challenges. Moms enjoy creative outlets and fellowship opportunities. Moms experience God’s love through relationships and resources provided by MOPS. The goal of MOPS is to help mothers of preschoolers find significance in the Lord’s perfect plan for them as women and as mothers.
Spotswood MOPS began almost 10 years ago when a young mom approached the leadership of Spotswood Baptist Church and asked for their support in chartering a local MOPS group. Many women have been involved in the leadership of MOPS through the years. The group has continued to grow and now ministers to as many as 85 moms and over 100 children annually. Our group meets the first and third Thursday of the month, October through May. If you are interested in joining or have questions, please send us an email! We’d love to get you registered! Unfortunately, due to our size and child care considerations, we cannot accept walk ins.
MOPS is a gift and a lifeline for many mothers in our church and community. When a mother is introduced to Christ, her family is forever changed. Thank you for supporting our MOPS group!
